This was a research study on the effects of behavioral health managed care services for severely emotionally disturbed children. The study used traditional and nontraditional research methods to assess service delivery, costs, and outcomes for children who were intensive users of mental health services in Summit County (Cincinnati), Ohio. This study was a cooperative agreement with 20 other sites funded by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to compare behavioral health services between managed care and fee-for-service delivery systems.
