This methodological study built upon the evidence base for focus group research, by addressing two distinct questions: 1) how many focus groups are needed to reach data saturation? and 2) what are differences in the data generated between focus groups and individual interviews; in terms of data generated and relative cost-effectiveness? This study simultaneously examined healthcare-seeking behavioral of African-American men in Durham, NC.
