PIRE staff conduct data collection to inform policy and funding decisions and support the work of the Bloomberg Overdose Prevention Initiative in three states (Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Michigan) with partners from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Vital Strategies. Both quantitative and qualitative data collection are conducted with people who currently or have recently been at risk of overdose through anonymous telephone surveys and in-depth interviews. Areas of focus include drug use experience, access to harm reduction and treatment services, perceptions of risk, and overdose experience.
