Vanessa Melamede Berman, MPH has been working in the field of harm reduction, infectious disease, and substance use for fifteen years. Her areas of expertise include project management, community-based research, program design, evaluation, grant writing and reporting, grant monitoring, and health education. Ms. Berman’s work has focused on infectious disease prevention, education and treatment among individuals who inject drugs. She has also worked on projects to expand and improve access to medication assisted treatment for hard to serve individuals with substance use disorder. Based in Burlington, VT, Ms. Berman’s current role as the Associate Program Evaluator at PIRE focuses on a qualitative evaluation of harm reduction and overdose prevention practices, and the selection of opioid data measures for an online data dashboard in Vermont.
