Jessica Velders has worked for University of South Carolina (USC-Columbia) Police Department since 2007. She holds a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Columbia College in South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from USC. She has instructor certifications in Specific Skills Instructor, OC Non-lethal Weapon Training, Self-defense, and PAS Vr Instructor.
Previously, she served as the Key Officer for her department with the 5th Circuit Alcohol Enforcement Team (AET in Richland and Kershaw counties) and in that position, worked with the 5th Circuit AET Coordinator to address underage drinking issues through environmental strategies, such as compliance checks and controlled party dispersals.
In her current position with PIRE, she assists in various trainings on underage drinking enforcement and education related topics across South Carolina and provides assistance to the Program Manager, Michael George as needed.
