Jessica Edwards is a Senior Program Evaluator at the Chapel Hill, North Carolina Center of the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation. Dr. Edwards’ work has centered on evaluating substance misuse-related projects. She has worked on national evaluations as well as with states, communities, and schools on their individual evaluations. Dr. Edwards has also conducted NIH-funded research focused on substance misuse and HIV interventions. As one areas of focus, Dr. Edwards is currently providing evaluation services and evaluation-related TA to several states with grants to prevent and reduce opioid misuse and its consequences. In these roles, she provides guidance on the selection and monitoring of interventions to prevent opioid misuse and evaluates the overall processes and outcomes of these projects. Dr. Edwards received her Ph.D. in Maternal and Child Health from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and obtained her earlier degrees in anthropology.
