PIRE Chapel Hill

PIRE’s Chapel Hill Center consists of a vibrant group of researchers and support staff who specialize in designing and implementing innovative, qualitative and quantitative evaluation studies of programs and policies that address a variety of pressing behavioral health issues.

Our work is local, national, and international in scope and is funded by governmental agencies, foundations, and other organizations.

Areas of expertise include alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use prevention, mental health promotion, intimate partner violence, HIV/AIDS, adolescent health, and opioid overdose prevention and treatment. Our evaluations are often community-based and participatory and focus on attitudinal and behavioral outcomes in schools and community-based settings.
